With a Serbian background and having spent my teenage years playing professional tennis tournaments around the world I have had an unconventional journey to the scientific field. I am highly passionate about neurogenesis/degeneration and would love to contribute to finding remedies for large-scale diseases. After being present at a lecture Evgenia Salta gave at the VU I knew straight away the NIN would be the ideal place to do my Bachelor’s Internship. My thesis focuses on finding new putative targets of neurogenesis and inflammation regulated by miR-132. With the help of this great team, I am exploring these topics in depth. My curiosity and perfectionism fuel me to think critically and take on new challenges. When not busy in the lab I love getting overly competitive at sports, finding new spots for drinking coffee, and enjoying quality time with friends.
