Role of the olivocerebellar system in cognition (funded by ERC, Veni and EU-NeuroTime). We are investigating to what extent different parts of the olivocerebellar system are involved in decision making and the preparation of complex movements. We hypothesize that individual olivocerebellar modules can control both the execution of movements and preparation thereof, that the more lateral parts of the system will be involved in the more complex types of preparation and movements, and that deficits in these processes during early development can lead to cognitive diseases like autism.
