Neuroimaging

Neuroimaging is een verzameling van verschillende technieken die worden gebruikt om de structuur of functie van hersengebieden in beeld te brengen.

Neuroimaging is a collection of different techniques used to visualize the structure or function of brain regions.

The techniques can be divided into structural and functional imaging. Structural imaging focuses on the structure of the nervous system and is mainly used to diagnose brain injuries, such as a brain injury or a tumor. Functional imaging is used to diagnose metabolic diseases and abnormalities on a finer scale (such as Alzheimer’s disease), but also for psychological research. Forms of functional imaging include EEG, fMRI, PET, MEG and SPECT.
