About Shriya

My project explores the neural correlates of emotion observation in basal ganglia conditions, particularly Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease. I aim to conduct a neuroimaging meta-analysis on studies examining brain activity during the observation of others’ emotional expressions. Using activation likelihood estimation and activation network mapping, my goal is to identify the neural circuits—especially those involving the striatum—implicated in emotion observation in the context of basal ganglia dysfunction.
