About Maarten

His entire scientific life revolves around the retina. Kamermans’ special focus is one single synapse (a point of communication between two neurons). That particular synapse is located in the retina and is crucial for seeing sharp, stable images. The fact that this synapse plays a key role in being able to see these sharp, stable images has not been discovered before.
