Bastiaan earned his bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2023, completing an internship focused on visualising ultrastructural changes in mycobacteria using transmission electron microscopy tomograms.
He then joined the NIN, where he developed an advanced electron microscopy pipeline for human, mouse, and cell-culture tissue. Today, Bastiaan serves as the institute’s electron microscopy specialist, enabling ultrastructural visualisation and support for multiple research projects.
